Libby Barrow was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. She holds
a degree in Geography with a concentration on People-Environment
Interactions from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At university
Libby worked as lead staff in the Department of Horticulture
instructional greenhouse facilities and as assistant manager following
graduation.
Following her studies Libby was Specialty Gardening Group Leader and
Head of the Madison Interior Horticulture Division for David J. Frank,
one of the top twenty-five landscape firms in the States. Here she
devised planting plans for the Frank Lloyd Wright designed convention
centre, the Marriott Hotel-Madison, State Street, and the Capital Square.
In 2004 Libby moved to England to attend the acclaimed Oxford College of
Garden Design. Now living in Newcastle upon Tyne, Libby has worked on
projects in the UK, Italy, and the States and she is currently the
NorthEast Regional Coordinator for the Society of Garden Designers.
